The origin of Isorg

I think it goes all the way back to 1999. I was bored one day and was killing time by playing around with an online MUD. For those who don’t know what a MUD is, Wikipedia is your friend.

This one particular MUD that I was trying to activate a new character on was being a PITA about the name that you could use. I tried many….and none were found adequate.

In a fit of desperation, I just started trying random words, at the time I happend to have a computer magazine open on my desk with an article that was talking about organization, IT management… blah blah blah.

My frustrated eyes focused in on a block of text … a group of sentences, a group of words…… “Is organization a problem”…. closer… “Is organization”…. closer still… “Is organ”…. Isorg….

Just like that, my online persona was born.

I first registered the domain Isorg.net in 2000, Isorg.com at the time was being used by some I.S. organization computer science group. In 2002 Isorg.com was free to register to the public since the previous owners let it expire, so I picked it up.

To this day when I have to use a “handle” on the internet, Isorg is my first choice.

My friends call me Izzy.
